Erudition and entertainment intermingle in a heady mix of what you want and what you need to know.  Chautauqua gatherings, according to Teddy Roosevelt, are the "most American thing in America". No quackery here!  This year we're bringing the Chautauqua into the modern age with the following presentations and author readings during our online event, on Saturday June 13th.

Shelley Adina is the author of 42 novels published by Harlequin, Warner, Hachette, and Moonshell Books, Inc., her own independent press. She writes steampunk adventure as Shelley Adina; as Charlotte Henry, writes classic Regency romance; and as Adina Senft, writes Amish women’s fiction. She holds an MFA in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University, and is currently at work on a PhD in Creative Writing with Lancaster University in the UK. She won RWA’s RITA Award® in 2005, and was a finalist in 2006. She appeared in the 2016 documentary film Love Between the Covers, is a popular speaker and convention panelist, and has been a guest on many podcasts, including Worldshapers and Realm of Books. When she’s not writing, Shelley is usually quilting, sewing historical costumes, or enjoying the garden with her flock of rescued chickens. Learn the tricks and techniques of using feathers in costuming.
 

Crystal has enjoyed vending at Brass Screw as Crystal's Idyll almost since the beginning, selling unique fantasy accessories. Crystal's love of the costuming possibilities of feathers started at the age of 12 when she worked cleaning house for an old lady who had been a fashionista from the 1930's on. When the work was done Crystal got to play with her extensive hat collection. Crystal works out of her home studio in Kitsap County.

Diana Peterson is an avid researcher of spirit and cocktail history, and has presented absinthe at the Brass Screw Confederacy since 2015.
